Her Story

I Didn't Build This Practice From a Textbook. I Built It From Experience โ€” Mine and My Clients'.

Before I was a practitioner, I was a patient navigating my own GI issues, disordered eating, body image struggles, and sports injuries. I know what it feels like to be in a body that isn't cooperating โ€” and to be handed advice that is technically correct but completely misses the point of what you're actually going through.

Those experiences didn't just make me more empathetic. They fundamentally changed how I practice.

I studied Psychology and Sociology as a double Bachelor's before completing my Master's in Nutritional Science โ€” because I have always believed that the mind and the body are not separate conversations. You cannot address someone's relationship with food without understanding the psychological and emotional layers underneath it. And you cannot address someone's physical symptoms without understanding the nervous system that is running in the background of all of it.

I went on to become a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. Over 9 years of clinical work later, I founded Hackett Health around a single conviction: real, lasting health does not come from restriction or rigid protocols. It comes from understanding what your body actually needs โ€” and building from there.

My approach is not about eating less or following a plan designed for someone else. It is about investigating what is driving your symptoms, addressing the root cause, and rebuilding a relationship with food and your body that is sustainable for the rest of your life.

The Foundation

Two Systems That Drive Almost Everything โ€” That Almost Nobody Is Addressing Together

Your gut influences your hormones, your immune system, your mood, your skin, your metabolism, and your brain. When it is dysregulated โ€” overgrown, inflamed, or unable to absorb nutrients properly โ€” those effects ripple outward into every system in your body. Most of my clients have never had a single comprehensive gut test run despite years of symptoms that trace directly back to it.

But the gut does not work in isolation. The nervous system is the operating system running underneath all of it.

When your nervous system is chronically dysregulated โ€” stuck in a stress response your body cannot exit โ€” it impairs digestion, disrupts hormone production, drives blood sugar instability, and creates an internal environment where healing is physiologically difficult regardless of what you eat or how many supplements you take. This is the piece that most nutrition practices skip entirely. It is also the piece that explains why so many women do everything right on paper and still cannot move the needle.

Jacquelyn addresses gut health and nervous system regulation as the foundation of every client's work โ€” because without that foundation, nothing else holds the way it should.

Functional Testing

Testing That Looks at What Has Actually Been Driving Your Symptoms

Standard nutrition advice rarely includes functional testing. Jacquelyn built her practice around it โ€” because without knowing what is actually happening inside your body, every recommendation is a guess.

Every test is chosen based on your specific symptoms, history, and clinical picture.
